Broadwater Hot Springs and Fitness Swim Instructors
We are providing a fun, safety conscious and engaging learning environment for kids of all ages and abilities is our commitment. We believe in developing physical and social skills through challenges and successes within our lessons.

Swim Instructor:Emma Koch
Emma Koch moved to Helena in October 2024 from South Bend, Indiana. Her passion for water safety began in high school when she took a lifeguarding class and quickly discovered a love for both the water and protecting others. She began her career as a lifeguard at a local community center and became a certified Water Safety Instructor just two months later in 2018.
Since then, Emma has taught countless swim lessons and taken on leadership roles in aquatics. At just 19, she became an Aquatic Lead and earned certifications as both a Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) and CPR Instructor. She is deeply committed to water safety and continues to find purpose in helping others stay safe in and around the water.

Swim Instructor:Alyssa Hurst
My name is Alyssa Hurst originating from Plentywood, MT. I recently graduated from Carroll College with a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree, and I am currently applying to medical school. I was a part of my local swim team for eight years, where I was also a volunteer swim coach. I have had experience working with kids as a babysitter, substitute teacher, and sunday school teacher. My favorite part about working with kids is seeing their face when the light bulb goes off and they learn something new. I look forward to teaching a skill that will truly last a lifetime.

Swim Instructor in Training: Dylan Hill
Hi! I’m Dylan Hill, one of the swim instructors here at Broadwater Hot Springs. I’m a high school student currently working toward my Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification, and working towards graduation.
Outside the pool, I’m a competitive runner for the Bengals, specializing in track and cross country. My personal bests are 4:19 in the mile and 15:59 in the 5K, placing me among the top runners in the state.
I’m certified in First Aid and CPR through the Red Cross, and when I’m not at the Broadwater, you’ll find me working at Stone Tree or climbing outdoors with friends.
This June, I’ll be training with awesome instructors Emma and Alyssa, and I’ll be ready to start scheduling lessons in July. I’m excited to work with you and help make swimming fun and safe for everyone!

Swim Instructor in Training: Auston Rowe
Hi, my name is Auston Rowe. I’m currently a junior at Helena High School, where I participate in football and track. I specialize in sprints and javelin, and I’m proud to be ranked second in the state for javelin. Academically, I’m enrolled in AP classes and aim to add AP Spanish to my schedule.
I’m passionate about working with kids and am excited to be teaching swim lessons at the Broadwater. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, outgoing, and committed to helping every child become the best swimmer they can be.
If you see me, I'll be training with Emma and Alyssa for the month of June and I'll be ready to start teaching in July. I look forward to meeting you.

I am from Tigard, Oregon but I am currently attending Carroll College to pursue a psychology degree. I have been a swim instructor for the past few summers and absolutely love teaching young kids how to be more confident in the water. Can’t wait to get started!
